Loudoun Medical Group Launches Drive-thru Coronavirus Testing
"Loudoun Medical Group in Leesburg has launched COVID-19 drive-thru testing at its Cornwall Urgent Care location at 211 Gibson St.
Testing will be conducted by appointment only for current Loudoun Medical Group patients with an order form from a provider. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
"The well-being and safety of our community, including our patients and our staff, is our utmost priority," Loudoun Medical Group Medical Director Anthony Crowley said in a prepared statement.
Testing will continue for LMG patients as long as test kits are available and protective equipment is on-hand for staff.
Dr. Jennifer Young from The Urology Group said they plan to use the test site as a model for other sites as long as personal protective equipment allows. She said they are in need of donations of N95 masks, face shields, surgical masks, gowns, booties, bouffant caps, disinfecting wipes, disinfecting spray and cleaning supplies as they are not available to order.
Dr. Kevin O'Connor said the first day at the testing site was a success.
"This centralized testing site is intended to provide the most responsible testing option," O'Connor said in a prepared statement. "Our goals are to keep potentially infectious people from our offices, efficiently use scarce PPE resources and be available for same-day referrals from LMG providers."
LMG officials said they screened 28 patients Monday.
Patients who feel they are in need of a test should contact their medical provider."
