The Urology Group Welcomes Dr. Amanda Smart

Dr. Amanda Smart will be joining The Urology Group in 2025.

She grew up in Palm Harbor, Florida and moved to the DC area for college and has remained here ever since. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology at Georgetown University and graduated magna cum laude. She attended Georgetown University School of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

Dr. Smart completed her urologic surgery residency at George Washington University in 2024. Her training included time at the National Institutes of Health with the Urologic Oncology Branch as well as time at Children’s National Medical Center. With a broad clinical background, she is interested in general urology including treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, stone disease, voiding dysfunction, and urologic oncology.

Dr. Smart lives in Northern Virginia with her family and miniature Australian shepherd. She enjoys hiking, cooking, and maintaining a cut flower garden.
