Christine N. Tran, M.D.
Dr. Tran strives to provide her patients with the best possible urologic outcome through a combination of technical excellence, clinical acumen, and compassionate care. Her special interests are in minimally invasive surgery and urologic oncology. She specializes in da Vinci robotic surgery for the treatment of prostate, bladder, and kidney, adrenal and ureteral cancers. She also has expertise in open and robotic urinary diversion, ureteral reconstruction, and pelvic organ prolapse surgery. She is adept in both the medical and surgical management of benign urologic issues including kidney stone disease, male and female urinary incontinence, BPH (prostate enlargement) with the use of minimally invasive treatments like Urolift and Rezum, erectile dysfunction, and overactive bladder.
Dr. Tran is a native of Northern Virginia and attended the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. She graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University with a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Dr. Tran then attended the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed her Urology residency at the Cleveland Clinic, which is one of the top ranked urology departments in the nation and a pioneer in minimally invasive approaches to urologic surgery. During her time at the Clinic, she was the recipient of numerous Caregiver Awards for her dedication to patient care, and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Resident Award for her exceptional surgical skill in minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Tran is author of many publications in top urologic journals and textbooks, and has presented at national and regional conferences.
She also highly values community outreach and is regularly involved in urologic cancer support groups, prostate cancer screening efforts, and educational lectures on topics ranging from common urology issues to women in STEM. She is certified by the American Board of Urology and a member of the American Urologic Association and the Society of Women in Urology. Dr. Tran has been consistently recognized by Washingtonian Magazine as a Top Doctor and serves as Director of Robotic Surgery at StoneSprings Hospital.
Dr. Tran lives in Ashburn where she loves to spend time with her family and is the proud mother of two wonderful children. She is an avid orchid collector and gardener, and enjoys backpacking, nature photography, and cooking.
